Yagwang is a Seoul-based visual art collective formed in 2021 by Terri Kim and In Jeon. Working across sculpture, video, installation, film and performance, the duo explores how gender, labour, sexuality and social power shape bodies and spaces. Their projects often combine latex, metal, projected images, constructed environments and live actions. Rather than treating identity as fixed, they build unstable settings in which marginalised figures, queer histories and forms of care can move between fiction and lived experience.
The collective’s recent activity spans major Korean and international institutions. Its 2025 video Dark Ride appeared in Young Korean Artists 2025: Here and Now at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea. In 2026, Yagwang participated in exhibitions at the Asian Culture Center and Art Sonje Center. The collective also received the 2026 Frieze Seoul Artist Award, which supports a new site-specific commission at the fair in September. Facade Zone dismantles the walls of a gallery booth into an exposed wooden structure containing semi-transparent latex sculptures based on guardian figures from Korean Buddhist painting. Changing light reveals the display system while altering the sculptures’ surfaces and shadows. Across these works, Yagwang uses multimedia installation to question how institutions, visual traditions and built environments organise what can be seen, valued or excluded.
