Pascal Schumacher

Pascal Schumacher is a Luxembourgish vibraphonist, composer and producer whose practice moves between jazz, contemporary classical music and electronics. He studied classical percussion, jazz vibraphone and musicology in Luxembourg, Strasbourg, Brussels and The Hague. After leading a jazz quartet and writing for theatre and film, he developed a solo language centred on the vibraphone’s resonance, combining acoustic detail with restrained electronic textures. Albums including SOL and LUNA explore solitude, repetition and layered ensemble sound, while GLASS ONE and GLASS TWO extend his engagement with the music of Philip Glass. Schumacher also teaches jazz and classical percussion at the Conservatoire de Musique de Luxembourg.

His current work alternates between composed projects and collaborative performance. In June 2026 he performed and recorded Judd Greenstein’s Watershed with the Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, preparing material for the forthcoming orchestral album GLASS THREE. His official agenda also documents 2026 appearances with pianist Danae Dörken in the Glass for Two programme and with SINGÜLAR, the trio he formed with Sebastian Studnitzky and Edward Perraud. Further concerts are scheduled for Frankfurt, ’s-Hertogenbosch, Ghent and Dudelange in September and October 2026. Across these settings, Schumacher treats the vibraphone as both a melodic instrument and a source of colour, pulse and sustained atmosphere.
