Lisa Batiashvili is a Georgian-born German violinist based in Berlin, admired for performances that combine technical clarity with a warm, concentrated sound. She plays a 1739 Joseph Guarneri “del Gesù” violin and works regularly with leading orchestras, conductors and chamber musicians. Her repertoire ranges from Bach, Mozart and Beethoven to Sibelius, Szymanowski and contemporary composers. Recordings such as City Lights connect classical performance with film music and personal memories of cities, while the 2025 album Future Horizons, made with oboist François Leleux and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, presents new works written for the participating artists.
In 2021, Batiashvili founded the Lisa Batiashvili Foundation to help highly talented young Georgian musicians develop international careers. The initiative extends an artistic practice in which performance, education and cultural responsibility remain closely connected. She received the City of Magdeburg’s Kaiser Otto Prize in 2025 for her commitment to European democratic values and her support for peace and cultural exchange.
Her official schedule continues through autumn 2026. On 25 September in Bonn and 27 September in Dresden, she joins the Dresdner Philharmonie and conductor Dalia Stasevska for Sibelius’s Violin Concerto, alongside works by Gia Kancheli and Mendelssohn. October brings a North American chamber tour with cellist Gautier Capuçon and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, including an Artist Spotlight concert at the New York Philharmonic on 24 October.
