Elena Lagun is a Swiss-based painter and founder of LAGUN ART studio in Schindellegi. Born in Minsk in 1971, she trained at the International Art & Design Academy after earlier work in finance and textile design, and has worked independently as an artist since 2011. Her practice spans abstract and figurative painting, landscapes, botanical subjects and portraiture, developed through repeated participation in international fairs and solo presentations in Zurich.
Lagun combines oil and acrylic paint with metal leaf, cold wax, charcoal and encaustic. In several bodies of work, gold or silver leaf is applied to canvas or wood before oil paint, allowing reflected light to remain visible through translucent layers. Other series use cold wax for matte surfaces, charcoal drawings beside gilded panels, or hot wax on wood. Across these methods she returns to natural elements, alpine and maritime landscapes, floral forms, colour fields and the tension between textured material and atmospheric space.
In 2026 she founded the ART.EL space gallery and continued exhibiting in Switzerland and abroad. Her official programme lists the Parallax Art Fair at Chelsea Town Hall in London from 23 to 25 October 2026, followed by fairs in Zurich and Mulhouse in November.
