Eivør

Eivør is a Faroese singer, songwriter and composer raised in Syðrugøta, a village on Eysturoy. Her music grows from the Faroe Islands’ communal singing traditions and severe North Atlantic landscape, but refuses a fixed genre. Across folk, electronic production, art pop, rock and orchestral writing, she uses an unusually wide vocal range, moving from intimate whisper to a guttural technique shaped by throat singing, beatboxing and metal.

Over more than two decades, she has released eleven studio albums and written for stage and screen, including The Last Kingdom. Her records combine Faroese and English lyrics with drums, electronics and acoustic instruments, treating the voice as both storyteller and physical sound. Awards include Icelandic Music Awards and the 2021 Nordic Council Music Prize. Albums such as Slør, Segl and ENN trace an ongoing dialogue between inherited song, modern production and the emotional force of landscape.

On 16 October 2026, Eivør releases Tungl, whose title means “moon” in Faroese. The album follows the singles Healer, Drekafljóð / Dragon Maiden, Verjugarðar / Walls and Spøkilsir / Revenants, songs centred on resilience, intuition, distance and reconciliation. She marks the release with concerts at Nordic House in Tórshavn on 16 and 17 October, followed by Reykjavik on 23 October and a North American tour beginning in New York on 28 October.
