Asmik Grigorian is a Lithuanian soprano whose repertoire ranges from Puccini and Verdi to Dvořák, Janáček, Bartók and Richard Strauss. A founding member of Vilnius City Opera, she has appeared at institutions including the Wiener Staatsoper, Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala and the Salzburg and Bayreuth festivals. Her performances connect vocal detail with close attention to character: roles such as Salome, Rusalka, Jenůfa, Cio-Cio-San and Tatiana are approached as complete dramatic portraits rather than isolated showcases.
Recognition has followed this stage work. Grigorian received the OPUS KLASSIK Female Singer of the Year award in 2023 and was named Female Singer of the Year at the International Opera Awards in 2025. On 8 September 2026, she received the Austrian Music Theater Prize for Best Female Leading Role for Norma at the Theater an der Wien. Her official website and management profile also document recital, orchestral and recording projects alongside her opera schedule.
The 2026–2027 season opens a new set of roles. In October 2026, Grigorian returns to the Wiener Staatsoper for a double bill pairing Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle with Zemlinsky’s Eine florentinische Tragödie, singing Judith and making her role debut as Bianca. In November, she returns to the Metropolitan Opera as Jenůfa and gives her first solo recital at the company on 18 November with pianist Lukas Geniušas.
