Galerie Jumelles

Galerie Jumelles was founded by Sierra M. Bretz as an online gallery intended to introduce French artists to a wider international audience. Inspired by French language, culture and daily life, Bretz left the United States in 2021 and moved to France to develop the project more directly. The gallery’s identity was built around a personal, founder-led approach to selection, with an emphasis on connecting artists and collectors across national and linguistic boundaries.

As a digital gallery, Galerie Jumelles offered a way to discover work without requiring visitors to attend a permanent physical space. Artist profiles, online presentation and video content were used to explain the gallery’s purpose and make selected practices accessible beyond France. The project also reflected the growing role of small independent platforms in supporting artists who may not yet have extensive institutional representation. Its cross-cultural perspective, combining an American founder’s experience with a commitment to French creative life, gave the gallery a distinct position. The listing is retained as a record of that initiative and of its objective to promote French artists through international online visibility.
