Hiromi Uehara is a Japanese pianist and composer known for performances that combine technical precision with improvisational energy. Born in Hamamatsu, she began studying piano at six and later attended Berklee College of Music. Her compositions move freely between jazz, classical music, progressive rock, funk and electronic sound, often using rapid rhythmic changes and tightly structured ensemble writing. Alongside acoustic piano, she works with keyboards and synthesisers, expanding the palette of her projects without separating composition from spontaneous performance.
