Panos Malactos is a Cypriot dancer and choreographer born in Limassol in 1994. Trained in musical theatre at Bird College and in ballet and contemporary dance at Rambert School, he has worked with companies and artists across Europe and Israel and joined the Belgian dance-theatre company Peeping Tom in 2020. His own choreography moves between queerness, identity and transformation, using a physical, theatrical language in which tenderness, absurdity and discomfort can coexist.
Malactos often treats the body as a site of memory, contradiction and resistance. Works including Hire me, Please, SADBOI, We All Need Therapy and Are You Okay? combine technical precision with intimate and politically charged performance. NO IM NOT continues this inquiry by confronting abuse, manipulation and unrealistic expectations in professional dance, exposing the gap between the sector’s language of wellbeing and dancers’ lived mental strain.
In 2026 he was selected as one of Aerowaves’ Twenty26 artists and presented NO IM NOT at Spring Forward in Guimarães and the Cyprus Choreography Showcase. His new solo Brightest Heroine premiered through Cyprus’s TERPSICHORE 2026 programme and appeared at the Athens Epidaurus Festival in July. The year continues with an installation for ArtCargo in Nicosia in October and a Seoul International Choreography Festival performance of NO IM NOT on 1 November.
