Transeuntis Mundi is a transmedia art project examining how migration and movement through space and time shape contemporary geographies, identities and shared cultural memory. The project brings together field recordings, moving images, virtual environments, performance and spatial sound to explore ancestry, displacement and the formation of transcultural communities. Its title suggests a world in passage, where routes, voices and places are understood as interconnected rather than fixed. The project treats listening itself as a way of understanding territory and belonging.
The work uses technologies such as three-dimensional audio, virtual reality, projection and sound sculpture, but these tools serve an anthropological and poetic investigation rather than a purely technical demonstration. Compositions have been developed from recordings made in public spaces in several cities, translating walking and listening into immersive experiences. The virtual-reality work Derive 01, launched in 2019 as part of the installation Passage: Feet on Earth, allowed audiences to navigate a constructed audiovisual geography. Through these layered forms, Transeuntis Mundi asks how personal histories become collective maps and how digital media can preserve traces of movement, memory and human connection.
