A school exhibition titled A Brush Can Change Everything used artwork by young pupils to raise Rs. 600,000 for a play area at the Children’s Hospital in Faisalabad.
Held at the Beaconhouse Kindergarten Branch in Faisalabad, the charity exhibition presented work created by students and sold it to parents, teachers and other members of the school community.
Children’s artwork supporting other children
The project was designed to show the pupils’ creative learning while giving the work a practical social purpose. Proceeds from the exhibition funded equipment and the preparation of a dedicated recreational space for young hospital patients.
The resulting play area used bright colours and included swings, trampolines and play mats. Its purpose was to offer children activity and relief during hospital visits that could otherwise be stressful and monotonous.
The idea followed an earlier Beaconhouse-supported project at the Children’s Hospital in Lahore, where recreational facilities had been created in 2017.
Art education connected with community action
Beaconhouse described the Faisalabad initiative as part of its effort to encourage dignity, charity and community responsibility among students. The exhibition allowed those values to be learned through a concrete process rather than presented only as classroom principles.
The pupils made art, saw it displayed publicly and understood that its sale contributed to a visible result in another institution. Parents and teachers participated by treating the work as something with both creative and social value.
A Brush Can Change Everything was not a major professional exhibition, but it demonstrated an effective relationship between school art and public benefit. The artwork remained central to the fundraising process, while the completed play area gave the project an outcome the young artists could recognise and understand.
